I am frequently asked why, as a CPA, I don't perform tax services. My answer is that you wouldn't want your podiatrist to perform your open heart surgery even though they are both doctors. The same principal holds true for your "bookkeeping" accountant and your "tax" accountant. While we may both be CPAs, we don't have the same specialty. You want your tax accountant to have years of experience in managing tax compliance and strategy, and that is experience I just don't have. I will work with your tax accountant to make sure they have everything they need to meet your tax needs. Trust me, your tax accountant will be happy you have us both!
Once we decide we are a great fit to work together, I will send you an engagement letter that outlines our relationship. This is really just a way that you and I can both make sure we understand our responsibilities as we move forward. You can cancel my services at any time with a 30 day written notice.
I absolutely hope this happens for each and every one of my clients! When it does, I will be happy to help you put together a job description and even do some interviewing with you to help get the best candidate for the job. Then I will transition all I have learned to your new hire so they can hit the ground running.
Most of my clients have been service based businesses. I find that most retail or product based businesses are better served by actually having someone in-house on a full-time basis to achieve their best financial results. From a service perspective, I have a wide range of experience including: branding firms, clothing designers, contractors, churches, co working spaces and others.
